![]() ![]() I would expect to hear nothing on playback using headphones connected to the deck. I recorded over what I had previously done with no signal, nothing connected to the deck. However the test tape I was using (TDC D90) had previously been used, and I noticed on the right channel that I could faintly here the original recording, like the erase head for the right side didn't complete it's mission.Įdit: Rewound my tape that was used for a test recording. I unplugged it from the AC source, plugged it back in reversing the polarity of the AC plug from the first try and now it works equal on both channels. But on playback, the right channel was again very weak. During recording everything seemed fine, both channels showing equal output on the meters with the sliders set about the same level. Today I had more time to do a test recording. I unplugged it and tired it again later when I had time, and this time both channels were good. Tried playback with a few of my tapes and the right channel output was very weak compared to the left. ![]() When I got it home and cleaned it up, just vacuumed out dust from the interior and cleaned the heads with alcohol. No RCA connectors to connect to anything, just played the tape and watched the meters bounce around, seemed about equal on both channels, so I figured it's probably working. I tested the unit in the store with an available cassette tape. I'm getting some quirky results, and haven't had time to sort out what's going on. ![]()
